Chicken Club Sandwiches (Printable)

Triple-decker sandwiches stacked with seasoned chicken, crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and creamy mayo on golden toasted bread.

# What You'll Need:

→ Chicken

01 - 2 chicken breasts (about 10.5 oz), cooked and sliced
02 - ½ teaspoon salt
03 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper

→ Bacon

04 - 8 slices bacon

→ Vegetables

05 - 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
06 - 8 leaves romaine lettuce

→ Bread

07 - 12 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat), toasted

→ Condiments

08 - 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
09 - 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)

→ Other

10 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for toasting, optional)

# How To Make It:

01 - Season the cooked chicken breast slices evenly with salt and black pepper on both sides.
02 - Place bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat. Cook until crispy and golden, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess grease.
03 - Lightly butter one side of each bread slice. Toast in a toaster or on a grill pan until golden brown and crispy.
04 - Lay out 3 slices of toasted bread per sandwich. Spread mayonnaise (and mustard, if using) on one side of each slice.
05 - On the first slice, place lettuce leaves followed by tomato slices. Arrange half of the seasoned chicken slices on top.
06 - Top with a second bread slice, mayonnaise side down. Layer additional lettuce, tomato slices, and 2 crispy bacon pieces.
07 - Place the third bread slice, mayonnaise side down, on top to finish the triple-decker construction.
08 - Insert toothpicks at opposite corners through all layers to hold the sandwich together.
09 - Using a sharp knife, slice the sandwich diagonally into halves or quarters. Serve immediately while bread remains crispy.
10 - Repeat the assembly steps for the remaining 3 sandwiches.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • That perfect bite where crispy bacon meets cool tomato and warm chicken all at once
  • Looks impressive but comes together in under 30 minutes even on a busy weeknight
02 -
  • Toast your bread even if you do not butter it because untoasted bread will collapse under the weight of three layers
  • Pat the tomatoes dry with paper towels before adding them or your bottom bread will get soggy within minutes
03 -
  • Use a serrated knife in a gentle sawing motion to avoid squishing the sandwich when you cut it
  • Let the bacon cool slightly on paper towels so it stays extra crispy when you build the layers
